January 2010 trip to Las Vegas and the surrounding desert. We had a full day to explore the areas surrounding Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. After spending the morning at the Dam we drove the Northshore Road through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area towards the spectacular Valley of Fire State Park. We saw awe inspiring examples of man's and nature's ability to transform the landscape.
